Summer family trip

November is a month when everyone wants to fly away somewhere sunny and warm, where you can just relax on the beach, enjoy sunshine and be happy. While I'm filling myself with vitamin D I think it's a perfect time to post the photos from our eurotrip from back in July. This trip was very special because it's the first time when I was traveling abroad with my mom. And in a very unusual way - we went on a Mediterranean sea cruise. There were 3 countries to see and a million of things to experience and of course it was a great pleasure to just be able to spend some quality time with my mom, who by far is the best ever ;)

We started out journey in Venice when we first spent a ridiculous amount for a water taxi and a gondola ride. But it was worth all of it as I think there is no better way to fully experience it's beauty. We were also lucky to have a wonderful Gondolier who was whistling an Italian song while moving our gondola very carefully so we could enjoy all the views of this old town.

Honestly, when you are there it all seems to be just a stage-scenery, as if you are in a movie or a beautiful postcard. After an enormous amount of food and adventures we went to Dubrovnik, Croatia where we've visited a beautiful old part of the town. Next day we found ourselves in Greece where we spent the whole day on the beach (I so wanna be there right now!) and ended out vacation in Rome.
I'm writing this post very quickly because my computer broke down so I'm using someone else's. That's why I can't describe everything in details but you are welcome to ask questions if you have any! Also here is the link- clic here -  to my previous post about the trip with my iphone pictures. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did! :)

ps. might have some grammar/spelling mistakes

9 days in September

I've already done an Iphone post about the trip and now I think it's time to post some more photos from my favorite camera. This post is mostly devoted to my russki friends who always ask why I go back to the same place over and over.
That's why.

travel diary

i used to plan ahead all the things in my life. i don't anymore. i realized that it's just the illusion of feeling safe about the future. and the best part of it that the unpredictable things turn out to be the most amazing. i didn't plan this trip way ahead. it kind of just happened. and you can tell from my happy face that 18 hours of flight are definitely worth all of it.

all the pictures here are taken and edited on my iPhone

travel diary - iphone only

Life has been peaceful since coming home, even amongst all the busyness.

My mom and I did this amazing cruise trip a couple of weeks ago. You can imagine- I've been taking as many pictures as possible, but I don't know if I'll be able to post pictures from my 5mark II soon, so I've decided to put these photos here. Some of them you can remember from my instagram stream.

When we arrived in Venice it was a night time so we started our adventure the next day, waking up to the Italian cleaner singing out loud "Oh Sole Mio" at 7am right outside of our room. We immediately got into this mood and as soon as I went out on the street I wanted to start singing myself- this is how beautiful everything was. We got lost for over an hour, walking on the tiny streets trying to find the best pasta place in the town. We tiredly argued over directions. when we did eventually find our way to it, things became a lot brighter again.

That evening we went on a cruise trip, during which we've visited Croatia and Greece. Dubrovnik is a gorgeous city and I wish I could come back again soon to explore a little more. My camera clicked endlessly at everything I saw and I couldn't stop thinking about how lucky I am.
The best part of the trip was the opportunity to be able to explore a tiny part of this world with my incredible mom, who isn't just a wonderful travel buddy, but also a great listener. She was amazed by all the beauty the same way as I was and I felt happy sharing my emotions and thoughts with her.

I love how you can just hop on a train in europe and a few hours later you are in a completely different city. When our ship came back to Venice after a week of traveling we took a train straight to Rome. We had two days to see everything we could.

Beautiful Rome.  The streets were packed with people around the main sights. We walked all the way from the Trevi fountain to the Coliseum, enjoying the gorgeous views, meanwhile trying not to get hit by a scooter (drivers are a little insane). After the long walk the buses were no longer going so we got gelato and decided to walk back to our hotel, which was right on the Via Nazional - one of the main shopping streets.

Life has been peaceful since coming home, even amongst all the busyness. Being busy with work and photography I’ve realised how precious time is. I feel that in ways I’ve been more creative and productive than ever, because my free time is so fleeting. And I'm enjoying it with all my heart, anticipating even better times to come!

All the pictures are taking and edited with my Iphone 5.

arabic dream

Somewhere along the way this blog stopped being about my photography work and began focusing on my life. It became a diary,  a chronicle of my adventures. I can’t think of any better way to affect people than by being personal and real. But lately my blog doesn’t feel personal or real enough to me. It should have all the color and chaos of a real diary, but it feels like I’m following a formula.
I think that this is the time when I should promise myself and you, my reader, to be purely honest and write as much as I can about my little world that grows big after I travel. As here, from icy Moscow covered in snow to mysterious sunny Dubai my whole opinion about Arabic countries turned upside down. Now I'm tempted to go back and see more as a week is not enough at all to get absorbed in all  the beauty of the city.
One day me and Dash got lost in Dubai for a couple of hours wondering around different cafes and shops. Life in Dubai is amazing, everything keeps moving and at the same time it seems like the time has stopped. This city can offer everything you want, but...if I live there the only thing I'd be missing a lot is rain. And no matter how weird it sounds I love my summer rainy evenings when I can sit on my window sill watching the sky crying, thinking about life, love, music and stuff.

The night is young

The night is young and so are we

Dear blog,

You witnessed all the adventures I had to go through during 2012. I can't even explain how grateful I am for all I experienced. Unfortunately I have to say goodbye to 2012 and leave some things there. Or do I really have to leave them behind?
I tried climbing, horse riding, learnt scuba diving and got my university degree. I traveled twice to America and did several hikes along the Pacific coast. I tried new food, got promoted and learnt new things about myself. And what's more important I lived, I loved and I was happy.

This should be the last post about my American travels in 2012. I miss my friends. Thank you for my this amazing year!

forever or not

The days slowly get shorter while I take out my sweaters packed away since April. It's snowing today and I'm home alone writing this little story thinking about lots of different things.

There are 1,001 ways to describe the heady sensation that comes with seeing a place for the first time. It's what gets travel enthusiasts hooked on travel. If it's been a while since you've felt the traveler's high, you're probably long overdue for a real adventure.

So every now and then the life gives me some surprises. Sometimes it's something material, but the greatest things I've got are just about emotions. I love my life for some opportunities I've got and here is one of them.

I was lucky to see Oregon again for the most amazing time of the year, when orange, red, green and grey colours made it incredibly beautiful.  I'll never forget the smell of salty water on the Oregon coast which is always beautiful regardless the season. You can show up just about anywhere in Oregon blindfolded, open your eyes and find something to do in a matter of minutes. And that's what I mostly love about it.

Of course There were little ups and downs during the trip like falling off the tree but the things like first ever s'mores, first scuba dive in the Washington state and first ever Halloween made me entirely happy.

I'm at this point in my life now when I want to try as many new things as I can but also I want to be a little more concerned about the future. It drives me crazy when I don't know what's going next and whether I end up being happy or not. But I've realised that maybe when I don't know future these little things make me even more happy when I receive them. Paradox?

Let's just stick to something that makes me happy. Even if it's not forever.

Here are some snapshots of what made me happy this October.

Oregon. Washington. Arizona.

Summer snow

I probably didn't have enough time to write my stories because I was trying to participate. But there are moments when I just want to share everything what I've seen and experienced. I wish that all the people I love and care about could have been there and seen everything with me. But as much as I like to write I just want to show my pictures so that way my friends would get the whole idea of how happy I was at the moment.
These moments are not stories. This is happening.

Everywhere is walking distance if you have the time.

I miss my summer time. It was so hot to hike around the Smith Rock that day but it was probably the best thing I've done during trip. Oh wait, we the caves were amazing as well. And I can't stop thinking about getting back to the Pacific Ocean...so what was the best thing I've done then? *wink*

Recently I've been asking myself a question "why?". Why I do this or that. But after days like these I don't want to think about what's coming next. I just want to enjoy what's going on at the moment. Like a little butterfly who has only this one day to be happy. To be happy and enjoy sunshine.

P.S.
My mom said that today is a good day to make a wish. And my mom is usually right.
